"Jim, here's your sleeping bag. Have fun!" Mom said.
"See you tomorrow, Mom," I said.
I was having a sleepover at Steve's house. It was my first one.
"吉姆，这是你的睡袋。玩得开心！"妈妈说。
"明天见，妈妈。"我说。
我要去史蒂夫家过夜，这是我第一次过夜。
"Hi Jim!" Steve was waiting for me at the door. "Let's put your stuff in my room. Then we can go outside to rollerblade."
"Sounds great!" I said.
"嗨，吉姆！"史蒂夫在门口等我。"把你的东西放到我房间里。然后我们去外面滑旱冰！"
"听起来太棒了！"我说。
Steve brought me upstairs. In his room he had lots of cool toys. He also had a white guinea pig named Ghost.
Soon we were rollerblading outside.
史蒂夫带我上楼。他房间里有很多很酷的玩具。他还有一只叫"幽灵"的白色豚鼠。
很快我们就在外面滑旱冰了。
"Watch this spin," Steve said.
"Nice move. Watch me jump," I said.
Steve's mom called us inside for dinner. "Time for pizza, boys!"
"看我转圈！"史蒂夫说。
"动作真棒。看我跳！"我说。
史蒂夫的妈妈叫我们进屋吃饭。"吃披萨的时间到了，男孩们！"
After dinner we played video games. Then we went to bed.
Steve's mom turned off the lights. "Don't stay up too late. Good night."
"Good night," we said. But we couldn't sleep. We laughed and told spooky stories until Steve's mom came back.
吃过晚饭后，我们玩了电子游戏。然后上床睡觉。
史蒂夫的妈妈关了灯。"别玩太晚哦。晚安。"
"晚安。"我们说。但我们睡不着。我们一直笑，讲鬼故事，直到史蒂夫妈妈回来。
"Boys," she said. "It's getting late. Go to sleep, please."
"Okay," we said.
For a while we were quiet. Then—thump! Bump!
"男孩们。"她说，"太晚了，快睡吧。"
"好吧。"我们说。
安静了一会儿后——咚！砰！
"What was that?" I whispered.
"I don't know." Steve sounded scared too.
We heard the sounds again.
"I think there's a monster in the closet!" I said.
"那是什么？"我轻声说。
"我不知道。"史蒂夫也听起来很害怕。
我们又听到了声音。
"我觉得衣柜里有怪物！"我说。
"Oh no!" Steve pulled his blanket over his head.
I hid under my blanket too.
Thump! Bump!
Steve stayed under the covers, hiding. "I want my mommy!"
"哦不！"史蒂夫把被子蒙住头。
我也躲到被子里。
咚！砰！
史蒂夫躲在被子下说："我想妈妈！"
Soon it was quiet again. Slowly I peeked out.
Across the room something was moving! I was about to scream—until I realized something. "Guess what, Steve. It's not a monster. It's Ghost!"
很快又安静了。我慢慢地探出头。
房间另一边有东西在动！我差点要尖叫，直到我意识到一件事。
"猜猜看，史蒂夫。那不是怪物，是幽灵！"
Steve pulled the covers tighter. "A ghost?"
I burst into laughter. "Not a ghost. It's Ghost. Your guinea pig escaped from his cage!"
Steve laughed too. He got up and put Ghost back. Soon we were both asleep.
史蒂夫把被子拉得更紧。"鬼？"
我笑了起来，"不是鬼，是‘幽灵’！你的豚鼠从笼子里跑出来了！"
史蒂夫也笑了。他起身把幽灵放回去。我们很快就睡着了。
The next morning my mom picked me up. "Did you have fun?"
"Yep!" I said. "We saw a ghost!"
"What?" Mom said.
第二天早上，妈妈来接我。"玩得开心吗？"
"当然啦！"我说，"我们还见到一个‘鬼’！"
"什么？"妈妈说。
I told her about Steve's guinea pig, and she laughed.
Then we made plans for my second sleepover. Next weekend Steve was coming to my house!
我告诉她关于史蒂夫的豚鼠，她也笑了。
然后我们约好下次轮到史蒂夫来我家过夜！
